Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 4 Review: Riverdale writers are back
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 4 Review: Riverdale writers are back!
We’re in the endgame now. The fate of Greendale which is set to face the eldritch terrors lies in the hands of Sabrina and Sabrina. The Spellman daughter created a time paradox by having two of herself exist in the same dimension i.e. Sabrina Morningstar and Sabrina Spellman at the finale of the third party. Along with the Eldritch terrors lies in front of them are the after-effects of Sabrina’s doing, as she and her family try to sort the heaven out of everything!
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 4: Plot
The final scene of the third part of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina staged the premise of what is to be expected from the town of Greendale in the coming season. Sabrina fabricated the time loop and created a time paradox and now we have 2x Sabrinas!
The time egg which was left unguarded in the new world which does not face the apocalypse is taken away by Father Blackwood and the twins, and he has now called upon the Eldritch terrors. The Coven under the new leadership of Hilda Spellman now worships the three-faced Goddess Hecate.
And one of the considerable aspect going into before watching season four is that everyone else in the mortal realm is unaware of the existence of 2x Sabrina. Only Ambrose and the Infernal Realm has the knowledge about it, and it is bound to cause some serious clutter for the chilled Sabrina who can never keep away from the messes.
Eight varied vague terrors come upon the town. Major questions to be answered in the finale part is how does Greendale cope with the Eldritch terrors? The fate of Sabrina Spellman and Sabrina Morningstar. What about Father Faustus Blackwood and his role in the ending?
And who exactly would be endgame? Is it gonna be Sabrina with the wild warlock Nick, or is there a teeny tiny possibility of Harvey swooping in to find his first love back? Go #Harbina shippers! All questions answered! Satisfyingly? More or less yes.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 4: Writing
Roberto Aguire-Sacasa also takes us back to the nineties sitcom Sabrina The Teenage Witch by having the original aunties Zelda and Hilda(Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea) in a cameo role along with the popular talking superstar Salem Saberhagen the Cat treating the initial fans with a joyous watch and with the typical background audience laughs as it was for the sitcom.
(Hello writers of Riverdale have you reached Greendale too?) Certain aspects of cringe scenes and ‘oh my god why would they do that scene’ were experienced, in the previous parts roughly, especially with the way they ended the weird sisters. And now suddenly the cringe has taken over with some seriously should have thought about the scene twice or even thrice before putting it from paper to screen. (Like for real)
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 4: The Riverdale crossover
One of the most contemplated and looked out for part was the Riverdale x Greendale crossover which everyone was keenly anticipating since part one. Though they slyly kept teasing about it every now and then, even now it’s just bits and pieces and somebody who you won’t be pleased to watch if you are a fan of Cole Sprouse (All Hail the Serpent King!)
Somewhere to the end of the third part where it felt 2x, Sabrinas might be the solution to all the problems, and it is to some extent, but again and again and over and over everything just gets mixed up and they were not able to deliver it as they would’ve also expected. Also, CAOS being the victim of another of Netflix’s canceled shows they somehow just managed to put it all together and let it end that way, which is definitely not the one the fans deserve.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 4: Conclusion
Cramped up into eight episodes, just when you get over one terror the next one is right around the corner and it might get difficult for the viewers to digest it all in such a short screen time. At one point of the season, it will be like you are learning and getting into one of the terrors and suddenly you’ll realize you’re already into the next terror, then there’s our Sabrina, the Spellman, and oh don’t forget about Sabrina Morningstar.
And now we have the aunties from the nineties sitcom and we have our own Spellman aunties and we literally have everybody’s twins in the other cosmos and it all just gets so so so jumbled and haphazard. Definitely, with a screen time of one more season, they could have slowly eased into it and it would’ve been a much much better conclusion to the chaos.
Everything set aside, for the fans who invested time along with the three parts this was what we have been waiting for! It’s not in the best fitting way but hey if anything we’ve learned in the world of disappointing endings to TV shows, this was not oh so bad.
