Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala – Cast

“Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala”, sounds unique? Well, ALTBalaji and Zee5 came together to serve this perfectly imperfect love story of Nitya(Divyanka Tripathi) and Vikram(Rajeev Khandelwal).

We have come across many love stories and romantic dramas having similar plots but what makes them different is the balance of love and stories, how both aspects are treated and portrayed. In this article, I will tell you about this beautiful web series “Cold Lassi Aur Chicken Masala” that will surely help you to think about whether to play or pause. Without much ado, Let’s have a look at the cast first:

  1. Divyanka Tripathi as Nitya Sharma
Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala

2. Rajeev Khandelwal as Vikram Singh Chauhan

Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala

3. Saloni Khanna as Manira

Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala

Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala revolves around the love story of two chefs. Two timelines run together, one is of flashbacks filled with the blossom of “pink skies” as well as  “terrible lies” and the other is the “Perfect present” with sugar and spice.

Nitya Sharma is a head chef of a restaurant in Mumbai as well as a single mother. While Vikram is an international Michelin Star chef. Both of them had a beautiful past. Nitya and Vikram both belonged from Bhopal. Vikram saw Nitya and (as I said “pink skies”) fell in love with her. An old-school love story! (Bollywood binge folks! Hands up). They join the same culinary institute and are brilliant at their part of cooking. Later, both of them tie knots together (Hence proved, food is the way to heart:)

Every marriage faces some ups and downs. Sometimes, at our worst, we often end up hurting others at the cost of their emotion. Probably, that’s where the “downs” of any relationship take unexpected turns. Nitya and Vikram exchanged terrible words. But that’s not the only thing, Vikram also cheats on Nitya with Seema(Nitya’s cousin).

After 8 years, they collide with each other (really spicy chicken masala ). Nitya’s wounds of the past haven’t healed yet. Vikram buys the same restaurant in which Nitya is the chef (coincidently). Both of them lock eyes but spice still sparks in between them.

(Two exes, one kitchen, too much fun..haha).

Both have a clash over cooking styles to memories “fries” and as I said, moments here are filled with sugar and spice.

Also, the supporting cast has a role in their own romantic plots. Things also cook between chef Tanvi and Kaizad. The ending is really overwhelming. Nitya lives the life she dreamt and Vikram gets to parent his son. If I was supposed to explain the ending I will take the help of Vikram. His dialogue :

"Jab koi rishta aapke pass hota hain uski qadar nhi hoti hain, jab who chala jaata hain toh uski ahmiyat pata chalti hain..par jab wo shaqs zindagi mein waapis aa jaye tab …tab asli sukooon milta hain".

Anyone here watched Cold Lassi Aur Chicken Masala??: DivyankaTripathi

Nitya is played by Divyanka Tripathi. She has been titled several times as “Tv ki favorite Bahu”.

Well, you would be surely disappointed if you are expecting  “IshiMa” from Nitya. She is bold and has become a bit coldd after her heartbreak. Divyanka steals every frame as Nitya. Her dialogue delivering is amazing and yeah I would also like to mention the fact that Nitya and Divyanka both are from Bhopal(outspoken persona). At some points, we experienced some overstretched acting from Divyanka but the exceptional writing of the whole script manages to balance the execution.

Vikram, played by Rajeev Khandelwal has two sides. One is of a Bhopali guy that has surely won the heart and the other one is of an international chef. We know Khandelwal for his “Haq Se”, “Marzi” and films like “Aamir” and “Shaitan”.Khandelwal’s expertise in portraying a range of emotions and his charisma is bound to work its magic on you.

The chemistry between Tanvi and Kayzaad is our absolute favorite after Vikram and Nitya. The moments they share serves as a “Naan” to our Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala.

Vidhaan Sharma as Vihaan is soo adorable!!!!

ALTBalaji never fails in presenting soulful and beautiful tracks to its originals. Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala’s soundtrack ” Alvida Phir Kyun Kaha” is one of those. The video is captivating with our favorite reel couple, Rajeev Khandelwal and Divyanka Tripathi.

Listen to this beautiful soundtrack:

Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala has clearly drawn inspiration from American Drama Chef. They were supposed to bind the characters with the element of cooking but instead, they used flashbacks and ordinary concepts. It seems after episode 8 that the story somewhere loses its track. We came across Pradeep Sarkar’s commendable work in Parineeta and Mardaani. But in Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala cinematography and production design have engaged us in every frame.

Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala Is An Exquisite Masterpiece! - REVIEW - Fuzion Productions

All the credit goes to the brilliant Jaya Mishra for dialogue and screenplay. Throughout the web series, a light-hearted comedy and dialogues of every character are one of the reasons why this should be on your binge list for sure. Let it be showing the lovely side of the protagonist to that absolute bold and bubbly side. The script stands out beautifully. From witty one-liners to exquisite emotional essence, Jaya Mishra has done a brilliant job.

In the trailer only Nitya's dialogue "Aao toh welcome , jao toh bheed kam" showed her bold side. Also " Dil ke khandaron par ishq ke mahal nahi bante" (call it cheesy or whatever you want but yeah they have worked hard one dialogues).
