Born in Manhattan, New York in 1965, he is the son of Robert Downey Jr, an actor, and a filmmaker. His mother, Elsie Ann was also an actress. He is the younger child of two after his older sister Allyson. An interesting fact is that his father allowed him to take drugs at the age of six. The drug was the only catalyst to make the emotional bonding between them stronger. His addiction to drugs started to increase then.
