What would you do to save your daughter? An ex-soldier goes on a mission to rescue his little one Could he save her? As I was watching the trailer which is available on Youtube, I was thinking about how I would start my next article. So, I came with this. Let’s unfold in this article about the movie. It’s an Italian movie which is filled with action, drama, and thriller.
Netflix has been preparing to manage its global audience entertained. Here is one of those, The Beast starring Fabrizio Gifuni, directed by Ludovico Di Martino.

The beast: Plot
Leonida, an ex-soldier who has been detached from his family for a long time is affected by Post-traumatic stress disorder, currently under medication. As the film proceeds, we come to know his past. His relationship has been at stake. There is no connection with his wife, son, and daughter. At first, we see his gloomy and stubborn character who will do anything whatever he wants.
As he hears his daughter has been kidnapped, we see his beast attitude. His inner beast unleashes as the movie goes. The ruthlessness of his characteristic establishes his character in the movie. To find his daughter, he gets suspected to the police. At last, they understand the beast is really genuine and after her daughter’s rescue.
We come to know from the last scene where it ends with a man pointing a gun to Leonida’s head and as he just triggers the gun, the main police officer shoots him. In this action-packed entertaining movie, the plot is very simple. There is no intricacy in it. Anyone can understand where the story is heading.
The beast: Direction and background score
We all know that in any action film, music plays an important role. With the fast-paced action scenes in this movie, the music maintains a rhythm. It captures as the thrill goes. Some fight scenes are choreographed well. Those blood-shed action scenes can captivate you till the end.
Fabrizio Gifuni plays the lead role here. His rough and tough character with a beard attracts you at some point of times but there is not so much to do with the character. Other characters such as Lino Musella, Monica Piseddu have done their job properly. According to the performance of every character, no one could attract you as such till the end.
Ludovico Di Martino, a very young director comes with his second film. His first film was “Our last” won numerous awards whereas this film doesn’t fill the expectation. He has maintained the rhythm of every action scene minutely. With some compelling captures, the film may look better. On the other hand, in any action film, the editor has a lot of works to do. Here is an example of one.
The beast: Conclusion
There is plenty of action scenes without any depth in the movie. The first half is better than the second half. If you are a fan of fast-paced action-packed films or addicted to watching action scenes, then you may try it once. A one-time watch you may not like to see the second time. Though it is an Italian movie, you don’t need to be worried about the subtitle. An English subtitle is attached there. Netflix has already done a good job. After watching this film, you may feel The Beast is not worth your money and time. So, I’ll suggest to go through some reviews and then watch. Happy Binge-watching.
